Give us this Day, our Daily Bread!

Good morning worshippers!  Just wanted to chat a minute about day 7 of the devotional, “The First Fruits of My Morning”.  What we want to pull out of our devotional this morning is that God has enough sustaining power in His “bread”, His Word to keep us and fill us as we hunger and thirst after righteousness!  This will also increase our appetite to worship Him like never before.  Hope you have a wonderful day or had a wonderful day depending on when you are reading this article and in case you did not read the devotional, I have copied it below for your enjoyment and study.  Until next time, I love you with the love of Jesus and grace and peace be multiplied unto you!

MORNING # 7 –GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD

EXODUS 16:16-18

16This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.

17And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.

18And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

Good morning!  We are still talking about the word of God on this wonderful morning.  The children of Israel were commanded by God to gather their manna (bread) each morning and they were to gather a certain amount for their nourishment and sustainment.  This was a miracle and they did not appreciate it at first.  Pay attention to verse seven in this chapter:  the people murmured because they were afraid and wanted to go back to Egypt because of the lack of food.  God was angered by the murmuring and provided them the bread from heaven to prove them and teach them a lesson about His power and provision.

Worshippers, what we want to gain from this is that it is a good idea to gather our daily bread in the morning as well.  We can gather just the right amount and God will ensure that it will sustain us! Also, we want to note that Jesus Himself stated in the book of John that He is that bread that came down from Heaven.  The forefathers ate the natural bread and died, but Jesus is our everlasting sustainer and our life.  It is extremely important to eat of His flesh and drink of His blood!  In other words, let us commune with God through our LORD JESUS CHRIST by studying and digesting His Word daily.  This will increase our appetite for worship.

Do You Know that God is for You?

Hello everyone!  Just wanted to share a spiritual nugget with you.  The more that I live in Christ, the more that I learn that I have absolutely got to keep Christ and my love-worship relationship with Him at the top of the priority list!  This holds true for every born again believer but especially for those of us who are anointed and appointed, filled with multiple passions and gifts, and those who truly want to be Kingdom Builders.  The more you give of yourself, the more you will see that times will come when you are just over looked and under appreciated.  Now I am not talking about wanting to get a “pat” on the back for working for the kingdom.  I am referring to times when we as men and women of God who truly labor for the sake of the Kingdom are just taken for granted!  It is during those difficult moments when you have to take a step back, breathe, and realize that even though you feel like you are chasing the wind and throwing pebbles in the ocean with no one to hear the sound, you must still press on and worship like never before!  Don’t get so discouraged until the spirit of depression begins to set inside of your soul.  Always keep in mind that you must allow the Word of God to build you up! God sees the heart of the matter. No matter how much rejection, false accusation, persecution, and heartache that you suffer while doing the will of God, you must know that God thinks beautiful thoughts toward you and that you must continue to know that it is not really about you.  It is about Christ and building His Kingdom.  He suffered at the hands of sinful men, yet He endured the cross despising its shame.  We must expect to endure suffering as well but know that He will make something beautiful of the suffering.  Well, just wanted to pour out and share with you my heart on this lovely Sunday evening.  The last thought I would like to leave with you is this:

If God be for you, who can be against you?  (Romans 8:31-What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?)  So, do you really know this by revelation and experience or is this just one of those feel good scriptures that we quote to pacify ourselves when we are licking our wounds?  It is important to know that you know that you know!  The world is cruel.  The church is filled with confessing Christians who are equally cruel.  Knowing that God is for you and that He will never forsake or forget you is crucial.  May seem elementary but  it is something that we have got to know by revelation from the Spirit of God.  This type of revelation will sustain us during the difficult times in our lives.

May God bless you as you endeavor to worship Him and serve Him mightily in these last days!

Come aside and REST! (To a Desolate Place)

Rest, restoration, and replenishment.  These are 3 very important words that another worshiper had to call my attention to just recently.  Just because we are anointed and have lots of responsibilities, does not mean that there will not come a time when we need some serious “stepping aside and resting” moments.  Even Jesus in His humanity as Son of Man had times when He had to take a break.  I have personally endured some serious attacks from the adversary recently, not to mention the normal stressful issues of life that I was already undergoing.  I began to feel the results of the pressure and tight squeezes in my soul, body, and even in my spirit.  My focus has been affected, my heart bruised and heavy, and I even began to feel sick physically!  I have a long list of attacks that really are too numerous to describe to you in this short article, I am talking about real, satanic attacks, BUT………God is so faithful.  I trust Him.

Well, I will take the advice of my dear Sister . My husband and I are planning a 3 day get-a-way really soon so that we can rejuvenate, refocus, and just rest from the hard pressing issues of the ministry and just life in general.  I don’t want to get burned out.  As my spiritual friend told me:  “You cannot be of help to anyone with your tank half full”.  Read the passage below and remember that at times, we all need to step back and just rest!!!

To a Desolate Place

Mark 6:30-32
30  The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. 31 And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. 32  And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves.

Look and Live! (a prophetic word)

There are some of us today that are looking and looking, and all we see is our pain, shame, guilt, and even hopelessness!  The struggle is real.  God is saying, “let Me open up your eyes, so that you can see your substance and live!  Change your focus.  Look to Me.  I will show unto you a well of water so that you can be revived and thrive!  For you soul has sunken low and you feel as if you cannot look up.”

The word above goes beyond basic encouragement, although that really is what the prophecy is about.  It is also a life or death situation for someone.  This word is the difference between someone’s hope of living out there purpose and utter ruin!  Read Genesis 21:16-20.  Hagar was depressed, tired, and hopeless.  She had forgotten the prophetic word that she had received years ago when her son was in her womb.  But the word says that God had to open her eyes so that she could see her substance!  She found what it was that she needed right then for she and her son to live.  Ask God to supernaturally open your eyes today so that you can see past what you are looking at naturally in order to walk out your God given purpose!  God bless you!

The Cost of the Anointing

In the Old Testament days, the olive oil used for anointing was very costly and precious.  So it is now.  The anointing upon our lives is a very precious thing.  It is exciting,  yet it costs us to be carriers of the anointing and the glory of God.  Watch the video below to the song:  “Alabaster Box”, choreographed and ministered by Denise Cook Godfrey.

I pray that it will bless you.

Controlling Myself!

“Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.”  (Proverbs 25:28)  Well, this proverb tells us that we are to exercise self control!  When you look at the customs and times that King Solomon lived in, a city torn down without walls represented a deserted, unprotected, and defeated place of habitation.  King Solomon likens this to a person who does not “rule his spirit”, which means to control the thoughts, words, and deeds.  For the modern Christian, it means cooperating with the Holy Spirit so that we can bear the fruit of temperance!  This is only possible if we are saved with the Spirit of God leading and guiding our lives!  It is possible, you know, although at times it can be challenging.

Let’s seek to be controlled by Holy Spirit so that we will not live our lives out of control, becoming like a deserted, unprotected, and uninhabited city!  The word declares that the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5).  He is the one who dwells inside of us to assist us in bearing all the manifested fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).  We can do this!  Lets exercise self control in every area of our lives, internally and externally.  Our fruit is produced beginning on the inside and then made manifest and visible outwardly so that we are light shining in a dark world.

“But by Every Word that comes forth from the Mouth of God!”

Hello my fellow worshippers!  Want to take the time to invite you to check out the details of the inspirational books that the Lord has inspired my heart and hands to publish for His glory and to bring encouragement to the Body of Christ.  For we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of our God!  That is what these books are:  Words to live by!  Go to https://www.amazon.com/denisecookgodfrey and read the details of each book.  Also, please leave a comment and give me your feed back once you have had the opportunity to read the descriptions.  I would love to know your thoughts.  Let’s grow together!

“Aint Nobody Mad but the Devil”

Well, I’d like to start this blog article by saying that there is never a dull moment when you are serious about your beliefs in the Prophetic Word of God!  God is always speaking.  Most of the time, we are just not listening or we are listening but as soon as the Prophetic Word goes under attack, we become discouraged and forget it.  This is what happened to the Egyptian Woman by the name of Hagar.  God spoke to her when she was at her lowest point and foretold to her the future of her soon to be born son.  When things got really bad again for her, she went into the desert and prepared herself for the death of her son.  (See Genesis 16:7-16 and 21:14-21)

So, the sum of what I am dropping these few lines are is this:  just because after you hear and receive an awesome Prophetic Word from the Lord the exact opposite happens, don’t get discouraged and lose hope.  This does not mean that God did not say it, it just means that the devil is mad!!!  Yes!  He is so mad until he is forming weapons against you.  I know this first hand.  I am in a situation right now where I have received a Rhema (A Prophetic uttered Word out of the written Word), and I had so much joy and began to activate that word.  I began to own it for myself.  Oh, but guess what?  The exact opposite started to manifest.  Something tragic and negative began to happen in my family.  The devil began to taunt at me and tell me not to even believe but I fought that liar and I am still presently standing on God’s spoken word to me.

So, if you have received a word from the Lord and it appears that all is going wrong or the exact opposite is happening, remember, it does not mean that God did not say it……..it just means that He did say it and it made the devil mad.  “AINT NOBODY MAD BUT THE DEVIL!”  Fight that liar with the true Word of God. So, what do you do with the already formed weapons?  Look at it for what it is and just know that it could have been worse.  Know that God’s Hand is more powerful than any demon spirit.  Continue to pray.  Continue to worship.  Do what you can about the situation in the natural and for God’s sake, do not utter words to God while you are discouraged and upset.  Calm down, encourage your own self in the Lord and then go back to God and ask Him for direction while you wait on Him.  Declare that no weapon formed against you will prosper!  We can do this my friend, we can do this because of who we belong to.

If this word has blessed you, please take the time to post a comment.  Also, if you feel led of the Lord to support this ministry financially, please do so!  (SEE THE DONATE BUTTON ON SIDE OF PAGE)  God has caused this to be good ground!  May God bless and keep you as you walk with Him.
